Re-thinking Your New Year's Resolutions.

Let's face it, resolutions are like wishful thinking. It's nice if it happens but chances are they won't. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should abandon all efforts. I'm saying you need to change your way of thinking and planning for the new year.

See the problem with New Year's resolutions are they are so generic.

  • "I want to lose 10 pounds"

  • "I'm going to eat better this year"

  • "I'm going to workout more this year"

All of these are really good goals, but they are only a starting point. Left as they are, they will likely end up in failure or slowly fading away before February even comes.

Instead, try breaking these goals into smaller goals or even phases.

  • For the next 8 weeks, I will lose a pound a week by lowering my calories by 100-200 every day.

  • I will eat out no more than three times each week in January, no more than two times in February... And so on.

  • I will work out at least 2 days a week for the next month.

Breaking down these goals will allow you more weekly victories and keep your morale high, leading to an increased drive to succeed. The more you feel good about your progress the more likely you are to stick to your goals! As always if you need help let me know! What are your New Year's resolutions? Comment below!
