We all have our vices. Some turn to food, alcohol, drugs, shopping...the list goes on and on. When life gets rough for me, I pound out my frustrations on some weights. There's no better escape for me and the added benefit is I'm doing something good for my body at the same time. Stress relief is not limited to strength training though. You can get the same calming effects from yoga, hitting the treadmill, walking around the block or Zumba! For maximum benefit make sure your exercise of choice is one you enjoy!
"Exercise in almost any form can act as a stress reliever. Being active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you from daily worries."
Mayo Clinic
Here are a list of exercise's direct benefits to stress.

It’s like meditation. Yes, meditation. Why? Because it is so easy to forget about the stressful day you had when you’re focused on movement patterns, or performance.
It’s a mood booster. A regular exercise routine helps you feel confidant, relaxed, and repels depression and anxiety. You’ll sleep better… albeit because you’re tired from your workout. :)
Whatever method you choose, just make sure your moving!
